Summer Plans

I’m beginning my yearly line-up of writing retreats and vacations lined  up. This weekend, I’m off to Bjorklunden in Baileys Harbor, for a weekend with Susan O’Leary and 23 other people. There are four men this year which gives a different perspective to the poems. Then in May, it’s back to Door County for a weekend on Washington Island, writing with Norb Blei and this one has its social aspects also with the 15 (approx) folks that are near and dear, our Clearing friends. We will be studying John Updike’s writing. Speaking of the Clearing, October brings me back up for the weeklong Rural Writing with Norb again. Now that I look at it, it’s three trips to Door County so I am adding to the national cash product just with the cost of gasoline. I doubt I will take any other trips as I should be tapped out financially by the end of October! Hopefully, I will be filled with writing ideas to last the entire winter.
